Do not take thought for your persons or your properties,
but first and chiefly to care about the greatest improvement of the soul.
I tell you that the virtue is not given by money, but that from vitue
come money and every other good of man, public as well as private...
The difficulty, my friends, is not in avoiding death, but in
avoiding unrighteousness; for that runs faster than death.SocratesThis memorial website was created to remember our dearest
Robert Dooley who was born in
Texas on
August 5, 1947 and passed away on
November 27, 2013. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.
Robert was an amazing husband, friend, brother, & father. He did his very best to provide the best life he could for his family. Almost always happy with a joke to tell, a man of few words, but when he spoke you listened because it was always something you surely needed to hear. Though growing up I didn't see it that way, I've come to realize he was usually right all along. He was a very smart man, the only man I've ever met that could diagnos a car problem over the phone.
Robert was truly someone to look up to, proving that men still provided for their families and could communicate with their wife; that it wasn't necessary to be the sole head of the relationship, but that through prayer & communication with the Lord & your spouse, & the willingness to compromise, a strong loving relationship could be built that could not be destroyed by the tests of times or the devil himself; that decision making should be something you share with your spouse instead of walking around like a warden. And that doing these things didn't make men look weak, but instead showed strength and wisdom, and that your're family should come first. Because Robert & Sandy did these things, of 30 years, they had one real fight. It didn't last but a few minutes, some loud words and raised voices, then storming out the door. Followed by quick apologies, reconciliation, and kept promises of it never happening like that again. I'm thankful for each day we got to spend with him here on earth, but until we meet again in Heaven... It's hard to accept that he's really gone, but glad he's no longer suffering, but is instead totally restrored not remembering any sadness, hurt, pain, or suffering.
I hope he knows how much he is loved, appreciated, and missed today and forever.
